Are you ready to awaken from the sleep that cloaks the power of knowledge? I was bright eyed and bushy tailed as the Sun rose on this Holy day! I promptly went outside, got dressed first so I would not frighten those neighbours that may be glancing outside, placed my bare feet upon our dear mother and recited a lovely verse for this day of Whitsuntide (added below). This day brings us an opportunity to have the inner experience of spirit-radiance, man’s high calling in the universe.
Today, May 23, 2021, we have collectively (sidereal astrology) the Sun, North Node (Rahu), Venus, Mercury, and Ascendant (rising zodiac) all in the home of the Bull, Taurus, the dwelling of Spiritual Beings of the Holy Spirit. The Moon is in the sign of the Virgin, Virgo, the dwelling of the Spiritual Beings of Kyriotetes – Wisdom. In addition to soften their delightful blessings Saturn, Pluto and the South Node (Ketu) are retrograde, thank you 🙂
What does all this mean, Kassandra? Strap in here we go! Let us begin with Whitsuntide also known as Pentecost. Here, upon the earth, in the streams of time we have certain rhythms that align with opportunities to tune into realms in and beyond the stars. Like finding a great song on the radio, you have to find the right frequency first and then you can clearly hear the song and dance along to the music, feel its rhythms let it move and warm you. Whitsun is a great song to live into as part of a three fold nature to the first part of the year when the language of the stars speaks to us through our thoughts. The first part is Christmas, the second Easter and today Whitsun or Pentecost. I love this explanation Rudolf Steiner offers in “The Festivals and Their Meanings”;
“through the Christmas thought, in as much as the earth is a star within the universe; through the Easter thought in as much as the most radiant of stars, the sun, gives us its gifts of Grace; and through the Whitsun thought in as much as what lies hidden beyond the stars shines into the soul, and shines forth again from the soul in the fiery tongues of Pentecost. Man’s life on earth can be fulfilled in this threefold being”
Fire is a bridge between our material world and our inner soul that can be perceived only inwardly. The gateway through which we can penetrate from the outer to the inner fire or warmth is truly a door.Allowing this feeling, warmth, to penetrate into our being brings a spirit-radiance, a feeling from the stars of radiated love, an imagination of being caressed by another human being. When we experience this Whitsun gift as a culmination to a trinity of blessings, we may awake from the sleep that cloaks our knowledge. Now the stars may be seen as an expression of something real. Loving strokes from the whole world of Spiritual Hierarchies. Rudolf Steiner offers in “The Festivals and Their Meanings”;
“When I gaze upon a person and see their form, when at look at their eyes and see them shining towards me, when I hear their voice- it is the utterance of this human being. In the same way, when I gaze up into the far reaches of the universe and look upon the stars, they are the living utterance of the hierarchies kindling astral (soulful) feeling.”
When we look into the other can we feel the expression of the far reaches of the universe speaking to us? Can we wake up to the speaking of the stars and find strength in our Spirit? Again here we have FREEDOM on offer. Will you RISE to the occasion?
We have the benevolent support of our divine counterparts as mentioned above. In the realm of Taurus we find an earthly reflection of the activity of Spirit, which interestingly is the Beings of the Holy Spirits dwelling. What is revealed as the activity of Spirit materialized on earth? What may the fiery tongues of Whitsun deliver with all this benevolent support? Here we have the Sun bringing a Great Light, a flame if you will, in which freedom becomes a luminous reality in the universe. Venus brings us inner and outer resources, beauty, goodness, Love, she gazes deeply into the hearts of human souls and lovingly reflects whatever comes from the earth.
What is she showing the hierarchies so that they may help us on our evolutionary path? Have some fallen far from the path of our human destiny? Today with eyes of our soul connecting to the gift of Whitsuntide will Venus allow us a glimpse of the whole earths secrets in the life of soul? Are you willing to accept this gift of Venus and the earth?
Mercury supports co-ordinative thinking, intellect and reason. Mercury and Venus together offer the gift of the human being bringing these resources to expression in the life of soul and spirit in their qualities of heart and temperament. Is the North Node in Taurus showing humanity the need to further develop spiritual organs to see and hear the spirit and soul of the earth, the natural world? What does the earth continue to reveal to us? With all the spiritual support we have today how can we propel ourselves forward in the spirit of freedom, spirit of truth, sprit of beauty, spirit of goodness and the spirit of love? The Moon in Virgo reflects the opportunity to hear the Spirits of Wisdom dwelling therein, may Mercury deliver their wisdom in our thinking.
