The Moon Meets Spica on this celebration of the Earth!

As I positioned myself beside a babbling brook in my favourite forest, listening ever so graciously, the merry little breezes caressed my face and played with the undines of the water, the stones felt under foot upon the earth held me steadfast to my position, the scent of spring was in the air and the warmth of the Sun filled my body, soul and spirit. The Suns light danced upon the water in an interplay of earth, air, water and warmth….or gnomes, sylphs, undines and salamanders. Asking these Divine Spiritual beings for guidance and support brought me to this post for today, I pray you will enjoy!

The Moon is meeting with Spica today standing before Virgo (The Spiritual Hierarchies of the Kyriotetes, Spirits of Wisdom). Who is Spica? In my amazing Star Wisdom New Astrology Emerging course a couple of years ago, this was shared with us…

“Spica, the brightest (alpha) star in Virgo (The Virgin), 29 degrees 6 minutes of Virgo. Known in many traditions as maiden, virgin, mother with child as well as The Mother of All. “A gift, being gifted,” and, further, a bright idea, a new solution” (Brady). At StarHouse, we call Spica “The Goddess Star,” as we observe abundance of life and blessing to
emanate from connections with her. She emanates a loving connection with life force. Stars can emanate in a manner that planets cannot. Planets reflect light; stars originate light.
In ancient times, she is depicted holding a sheaf of wheat to demonstrate the powers of growth and nurturance in the little seeds of grains. Sometimes she is seen holding balance scales, perhaps from her proximity to Libra, The Scales. These tools, taken now for granted, were revered for their contribution to the support of civilization, letting it blossom. Thus, Spica also supports the development of consciousness—through community—not only through individual attainment, thus the maturing of human relationships.
Here is what an ancient astrologer known as “Anonymous of the Year 379” said about this wonderful star: Spica makes people become the interpreters of sacred things, high, supreme, honored and respected priests or philosophers or the inspired interpreters of some mysteries and, especially in the female genitures [births], it makes the natives [those born at this time] the priestesses of Demeter—that is, of the Mother of the gods—or of Kore or Isis, as well as women who are the interpreters of sacred things or experts in mysteries or in initiation rites and who are helped by the gods very much.”

With our dear Moon hosting the qualities and blessings of all maternal roles, quality of temperament, individual destiny, capacity for creativity and all the heavenly bodies in the universe sending their rays towards the Moon, the solar light being the strongest, and the Moon — as a mirror of the universe — then the Moon radiates them back in every direction.

All this Divine Feminine, Goddess vitality on this Moon-day when we as a community celebrate intentionally, our dear Mother Earth! The Moon, Spica, Virgo, Mother Earth all contributing to the Divine Wisdom of our higher human nature.

Rudolf Steiner offers this; “It can be said, therefore, that the universe is before us in a twofold aspect. It reveals itself in the environment of the Earth and is radiated back by the Moon.”

As a community of the Earth we consciously mature in our relationship to the Earth and to each other in this event honouring our dear Mother Earth… The ancient astrologer of the year 379 of Spica said, “the priestesses of Demeter—that is, of the Mother of the gods—or of Kore or Isis, as well as women who are the interpreters of sacred things or experts in mysteries or in initiation rites and who are helped by the gods very much.”
I ask on this day where the cosmic wisdoms are reflected and revealed to us upon our environment on Earth, do we have the eyes to see, the hears to hear these cosmic wisdoms/mysteries from the Holiest of Holies reflected from the Sun in Aries (the Spiritual Hierarchies of the Logos, the Mystic Lamb)?

Coming out of these Divine Light Beings can we find expression of our inner Love and gratitude for Mother Earth and the Cosmos with our transformed thinking, our higher human nature? Are we able to allow ourselves to receive from the Mother of All, “A gift, being gifted,” and, a bright idea, possibly a new solution? May our inner expression result in our efforts to work together as a ‘whole’ community in truth, beauty, goodness and love.

Today when you meet Mother Earth and the Cosmic Wisdoms reflected and revealed therein, nurture yourself warmly, embrace the sights, sounds and whisperings carried upon the elements in a new way, as the Light, Love and Life of the Divine gift you in the abundance of Grace…

In Loving Warmth,
Kassandra
