On June 10, 2021, an annular solar eclipse begins at sunrise in Ontario, Canada. The Moon’s antumbral shadow touches down on the northern section of Lake Superior and traverses three countries; Canada, Greenland, and Russia. The path of this eclipse of the Sun can be seen in the link above. Interesting the A.R.K. (acts of random kindness?) of the eclipse of the Sun seems to begin in Ontario, Canada up into Greenland and into Russia. At the eclipse maximum it will look like a halo or a ring of fire. How may we interpret the meaning of an eclipse of the Sun? One way, Steiner referred to eclipses was as ‘safety valves’. The initiates of old new that the unbridled impulses, and instincts of humanity surge out into the cosmos.
Rudolf Steiner explains:
They said: Under normal conditions the evil impulses of will which are sent out into the cosmos by human beings are, as it were, burned up and consumed by the rays of the sun, so that they can injure only man himself, but can do no universal harm. When, however, there is an eclipse of the sun, opportunity is given for the evil which is willed on earth to spread over the cosmos. An eclipse is a physical event behind which there lies a significant spiritual reality.
A safety-valve is there to avert danger, to provide an outlet for something or other — steam, for instance — at the right moment. One of the safety-valves which makes its appearance in the cosmos and to which we give the name of a solar eclipse, serves the purpose of carrying out into space the evil that spreads over the earth, in order that evil may work havoc in a wider, less concentrated sphere.
Tomorrow morning the Sun, Mercury, New Moon and Earth all are lined up in Taurus (sidereal true sky astrology). Taurus or the dwelling of the Cosmic Spirit has been very busy over these past few weeks! The Bull as the earthly reflection of the activity of Spirit is always connected with the Moon. In ancient Egypt we see the horns of the Bull around the Moon disk (Isis). The human organism directly affected by that of the Bull is that of the larynx where speech is formed. The speech process and Iron process are closely related. There is much to say about this and here is a small dose of a much larger picture; Mars Iron (iron in the formation of earth, and ennobled speech) is closely involved in this metamorphosis of the reproduction/creative organ of the larynx. Sun Iron falls to the earth through the year in the form of the “iron rain” of meteors thrown off by the Sun . Iron creates a balance inside the human being. Mars helps us to assimilate the iron from the meteors the “iron rain” of Sun iron which brings healing. The June Bootid meteor shower will be active from 22 June to 2 July, 2021, great opportunity for us all!
There is another significant aspect which connects the influence from the region of the Bull, which rules the larynx, giving us the gift of speech, with the future working of the Holy Spirit. Speech connects us with others in a loving marriage of souls, & Rudolf Steiner takes this metaphor even further to say that the Larynx will one day not only speak forth words, but will become a creative organ, a higher version of the organs of reproduction! Here’s a quote from Dr. Steiner: “…we must understand that the larynx in its full transformation, when the human being has become chaste again, will turn like a flower to the spiritual Sun. The calyx of the flower, when the larynx is pure, becomes a chaste chalice, ready to be fructified by the Spirit, to be offered to the ‘Holy Lance of Love’. During this eclipse of the Sun, what unbridled impulses, surging instincts of humanity and evil intentions, are being released from the Earth into the cosmos to bring release and relief to all living beings upon the Earth, giving the opportunity to meet the highest ideal, the Holy Grail? Whatever they may be, how may we show our gratitude for this divine safety valve? Will the path of the A.R.K. be graced with much needed support of the Spiritual Beings closer to the North? The North Pole is host to very special influences. Even today, at the North Pole, the strongest influence is from the Earth’s centre to its surface, and the influence of the Sun and the Moon are at their least. While the Sun and Moon have less of an influence during this eclipse of the Sun, I wonder what wise Spiritual beings dwelling closer to the North may bring from the starry Heavens?
With Mercury involved squaring Neptune, are the liars, thieves and deceivers being unveiled, revealed, and released! With this blessing may we explore with greater clarity good thoughts, good words, good deeds, from our neighbours, and give of ourselves the same to the other? May we begin transforming our speech NOW to bring this moral creative force within our human soul, connecting with others, and pollinating the soul of the Earth? Will Neptune also delight us making our dreams come true?
Mars is currently in Cancer (dwelling of the Spirits of Harmonies) opposite Pluto in Capricorn (dwelling of the ArchAngeloi Spirits of Fire). Mars may inspire reinstated Harmony to your; drive, ambition, home, security, and family traditions. This may bring balance, and have an opportunity for healing. Pluto opposite Mars may be the Phoenix rising from the ashes, transforming power from our core. What is rising from the core/centre of the Earth to the surface of the Earth?

Connect with the beauty of the Earth and all the divine Grace she offers us. Connect with the Cosmic blessings and nudges to let go of what no longer serves your highest good.
