spring equinox; we have what was perceived as the activity of repentance

Warm Festive Blessings on this Vernal (Spring) Equinox!  How will you celebrate this Spring Equinox?

“To celebrate a festival really means to unite oneself in spirit with the cosmic spirit”. Rudolf Steiner

We find the cycles of the year also influencing our daily lives.  The Spring Equinox offers us a time for new growth, new beginnings.  Dreams we may have planted in our hearts through the darkness of winter may now begin to sprout, blossom and ripen.  This is a time for inner balance, a return to our higher human nature, with the support of a balanced influence of Light and Dark that the Spring Equinox offers.  Have patience as the Sun now grows for us in Warmth and Light bringing the Life forces to grow and nurture our seeds well sown.

With this, we approach spring, the spring equinox. And just as here (see diagram: midsummer, autumn, midwinter) we have Enlightenment, Cognition, Temperance, so for the spring equinox we have what was perceived as the activity of repentance. And in place of Cognition, and correspondingly, Temptation through Evil, there now entered something which we could call the Return — the reversion — to man’s higher nature through Repentance. Where we have written here (see diagram: midsummer, autumn, winter): Enlightenment, Cognition, Temperance, here we must write: Return to Human Nature.

These are great questions to ask of ourselves:
(found on Findhorn Ecovillage and Community website)

  • How can I bring more balance into my life?
  • What do I need in order to let go of what’s no longer serving me?
  • Where would I like to focus my energy instead?
  • What small adjustments can I make in my daily life to reach equilibrium?
  • What small adjustments can I make in my daily life to return to my Higher Human Nature?

“A festival has the quality of lifting us out of the ordinary and into the mysteries and magic of the rhythm of the seasons. Throughout history, festivals have emerged from people’s connection with their spiritual life and their search for the meaning of human existence”, Hazel Archer Ginsberg.

When we celebrate these festivals we truly allow Heaven to meet Earth, uniting them in ourselves.

Simple ways to celebrate with your own Festival;

Go outside: Take a hike, or explore new parts of your city you haven’t seen before. Look for signs of life sprouting from Mother Earth. Hug a treeConnect with the glory of the sacred Stars at night!

Plant seeds or garden: This is also a festive way to celebrate and honour this astrological event! Sing to your plants while you give them into the earth. Plant organic food and flowers to brighten up the earth!

Wake at Sunrise: Rise early from bed to meet the Sun rising in the east. Consciously awaken your body, soul and spirit with the glory of the Sun.

Have a bonfire: All over the world, cultures integrate fire into their celebrations. Go outside and have a fire (safely of course!). This is a great time to gather loved ones, set new intentions for the season and release them to the flames.

Spring cleaning: This is a crowd favourite, some look forward to this yearly cleanse, outwardly and some inwardly. Cleaning on this day can boost your energy, open the windows, play music, dance, shake off, wipe clean the sluggish energy of the winter months.

Here’s to your festive Spring Equinox celebration, and return to your higher human nature.

With Love,
Kassandra
